The Most Controversial Owners in Sports History

Al Davis

We completely respect Davis for helping Oakland to become a prominent franchise during the 1970’s. He certainly enjoyed success at the highest levels. Still, it doesn’t completely absolve Davis from being a bad owner. His handling of the Lane Kiffin debacle was strange, to say the least. Duly, he had his hands all over poor personnel decision-making. This includes taking Darrius Heyward-Bey at No. 7 Overall in the 2009 NFL Draft.
