Arvydas Sabonis is another curious case of “what could have been,” particularly because only a few recordings exist of his peak performance with the Soviet Union team. In the NBA, at a towering height of 7-foot-3 was quite slow, yet he impressed everyone with his sharpshooting skills and exceptional ability to make plays. Initially, his agility and athleticism were extraordinary for someone of his stature. Experts often speculate that without injuries and had he played his entire career in the NBA, he might have been listed among the top five centers in league history. However, fans are left to appreciate his contributions during his Portland tenure, where he managed averages of 12 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. He is the father of current NBA player Domantas Sabonis.
