The 4 Biggest Takeaways From A Historic (And Disappointing) UFC 200

3. Cain Velasquez Can Beat Any Heavyweight In The World

Cain Velasquez made quick work of contender Travis Browne in the first fight of the event’s main card. With only two fights in the last three years, MMA fans haven’t had too many opportunities to see the former heavyweight champion showcase his array of talents in the octagon. Velasquez pushes the pace like no other heavyweight can, and was right in Browne’s face from the opening bell.

The version of Cain we saw last night wasn’t the same version that lost to Fabricio Werdum in 2015. With an unlimited gas tank and speed that is unmatched in the heavyweight division, Velasquez looks poised to avenge his loss against Werdum on his way to reclaiming his spot atop the division.
