2022 NFL Mock Draft 5.0

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: OL Evan Neal — Alabama

The Jaguars have some serious issues on both sides of the ball, but there’s been a persistent need in the trenches. Jacksonville’s defensive line could use some work, but protecting Trevor Lawrence is paramount. Evan Neal is a force who boasts the best combination of size, speed, and strength at the position. It’s not farfetched thing Neal will one day be the best tackle in the league given his immense physical tools.

There lies a chance the Jaguars aren’t overly enamored with any of the prospects, and wind up trading out of the first selection. It may behoove a team that has hole all over the field and could use a few extra picks. In that case, we could see a team try to move up and select one of the draft’s top pass rushers or a quarterback. We’ve penciled in Neal with this spot, but in reality the race to be No. 1 pick is still completely up in the air.
