1. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts were many experts’ pick to win Super Bowl 50 after an AFC Championship Game appearance in 2014, but Andrew Luck’s injury woes resulted in a lost season. With Luck entering 2016 fully healthy, Indianapolis and their elite offense will be difficult for anyone to stop.
Similar to the days when Peyton Manning was under center, Indianapolis’ defense will need to at least be average if the Colts are to make a deep run. While Luck is capable of carrying the team, last year’s stingy Denver unit reminded everyone that defense wins championships.
Competing in the weak AFC South certainly helps the Colts’ chances, as home-field advantage throughout the playoffs would be crucial in helping Luck bring Indianapolis its first Lombardi Trophy since 2007.
