1. The Real Draft Begins At Pick No. 3
The Rams and Eagles both gave up a ton of future draft picks in order to move to the top of the draft. The Titans and Browns both received compensation that can only be considered equivalent to a face-of-the-franchise quarterback. And with the Rams and Eagles both displeased with their long-term options at quarterback, Jared Goff and Carson Wentz are guaranteed to be the first two picks off the board.
Los Angeles is expected to select Goff, leaving Philadelphia with Wentz. It will be the third time in the last five years that the first two picks are quarterbacks. In 2012, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III were selected first and second, and last year, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota were the first two off the board.
There will be plenty of pressure on Goff and Wentz, as both the Rams and Eagles have the necessary talent to compete right away.
