Winner – Jacksonville Jaguars
It’s not very often that a team is deciding between two players, selects one, and then gets the other guy 31 picks later. However, that’s exactly what took place for the Jaguars when they picked Jalen Ramsey fifth overall and then snagged Myles Jack at pick No. 36. Ramsey and Jack are extremely athletic and versatile defenders who will immediately flourish in Gus Bradley’s system.
With Jacksonville’s offense leaps and bounds ahead of its defense, the Jaguars were wise to focus primarily on the defensive side of the ball. The Jaguars added significant depth on the defensive line with Yannick Ngakoue, Sheldon Day and Tyrone Holmes, and are suddenly legitimate contenders to win the AFC South this season.
Going from a 5-win team to division contender in a single draft is about all you can ask for.
