Re-Drafting The Incredibly Impressive 2017 NFL Draft

14. Philadelphia Eagles (from MIN) — RB Christian McCaffrey

Original Spot For McCaffrey: 8th Overall (Panthers)
Original 14th Pick: EDGE Derek Barnett

Like the Eagles needed any help? McCaffrey joining Carson Wentz and the high-flying Eagles would be a match-made in football heaven. Maybe there are more pressing needs, but when you’re one of the most stacked rosters in the league, you are afforded luxuries such as these.

The big gains haven’t been there (yet), but CMC gives Philly another weapon for their expansive arsenal. He’s already one of the better pass-catching threats out of the backfield. Even if the Eagles don’t want him as a full-time back, McCaffrey is perfectly comfortable in the slot for major stretches of the game. This would allow the team to have LeGarrette Blount or Jay Ajayi on the field alongside the dangerous McCaffrey. The down-field threats of Zach Ertz, Alshon Jeffery, and Nelson Agholor would surely help open up some lanes for the speedy McCaffrey.
