Ranking The Top 21 Rookie Fantasy Options for the 2017/18 NFL Season

19. Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner

Conner doesn’t have to travel far to play for his new team after completing his collegiate career at the University of Pittsburgh. The Panther-turned-Steeler is a powerful runner that tallied 20 total touchdowns in his senior year. Although he’s sitting behind stud running back Le’Veon Bell, it’s important to note that Bell has appeared in all 16 games of the Steelers schedule just once in his career.

We saw last year what DeAngelo Williams was able to do while Bell served a suspension early in 2016 (58 carries, 237 yards, two touchdowns in two starts). With Williams no longer on the team, Conner seems to be the correct handcuff in the event Bell misses any time throughout the season.

18. Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt

With Jamaal Charles signing with the division-rival Denver Broncos, the Chiefs have a glaring hole to fill in their backfield. Spencer Ware impressed last year, and Charcandrick West has looked promising in spots, but the battle for the starting job is still very much up for grabs. Hunt was a homerun hitter during his time at Toledo (6.2 yards per carry over four years) and proved that he could be a threat in the passing game hauling in 41 receptions during his senior season.

He’s worth a mid-round pick in a majority of leagues as he should find playing time even if the Chiefs decide on a running-back-by-committee approach.
