32. Houston Texans — C.J. Stroud/Nico Collins

Eric Espada/Getty Images
Kicking off the ranking with a team that is a bit too familiar with this region of a power rankings. The Texans finally got their QB, but do they have enough talent around former Ohio State passer C.J. Stroud? The rookie will give the team some much needed juice under center — something they’ve been missing since 2020 when Deshaun Watson last played for the team. Later in the draft, Houston added two WR’s in the form of Tank Dell and Xavier Hutchinson. Dell has a chance to be a difference-maker, but we’d guess veteran Nico Collins enters 2023 as the No. 1 option. Collins provides a big target for the young quarterback, sporting a massive 6-foot-4, 215-pound frame.
31. Carolina Panthers — Bryce Young/D.J. Chark

Jim Dedmon/USA TODAY Sports
The Panthers’ remade offense should surely be better than the group Carolina trotted out last season. Of course, the headliner is No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young. A precision passer with excellent instincts in the pocket, Young projects to be a top-tier talent one day. Surrounding him during his rookie year will be a mix of veterans and promising upstarts. Adam Thielen was brought in from Minnesota, though the 32-year-old is more of a rotation option at this point of his career. We could see a rookie-rookie tandem if Young hits it off early with second round pick Jonathan Mingo — who has been compared to fellow SEC product Deebo Samuel. Perhaps the most intriguing option is former Jaguar and Lion D.J. Chark. Chark is a tremendous athlete, but has struggled to stay on the field throughout his career. If he can stay healthy, Chark provides Young with a legitimate downfield threat.
30. Green Bay Packers — Jordan Love/Christian Watson

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports
The Packers tandem has a lot to prove in 2023. Christian Watson showed immense flashes throughout an exciting rookie campaign. After a quiet start, Watson exploded for eight TD’s over a four-game span. He’s tall, fast, locates the ball well, and can make plays after the catch. Watson has all of the tools teams are looking for in a No. 1 option. Less is known about the player who will be throwing to Watson. Jordan Love spent the last two seasons behind Aaron Rodgers. We’ve seen glimpses thus far, but it’s a bit different now that teams will enter the season game-planning for Love as Green Bay’s starter. This pair has potential, but it needs to come to fruition.
29. New York Giants — Daniel Jones/Jalin Hyatt

Danielle Parhizkaran/USA TODAY Sports
This ranking might feel a bit disrespectful following Jones’ last campaign. The Giants’ passer played his way into a contract extension this past offseason following a strong year. He was able to accomplish this while passing to one of the least talented WR corps in football. The leader for receiving yards for the Giants last season was Darius Slayton, who only needed 724 yards to capture that title. This summer, the team’s biggest pass-catching add was TE Darren Waller. As far as WR’s go, there are several names vying for the top target share. Slayton is still in the mix, as are Sterling Shepard, Wan’Dale Robinson, Jamison Crowder, and Parris Campbell. The most upside, though, resides in rookie Jalin Hyatt. Arguably the fastest wideout in the class, Hyatt has the ability to warp defenses with his top-end speed.
28. New England Patriots — Mac Jones/JuJu Smith-Schuster

Fred Kfoury III/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
Mac Jones is looking to shake off last year’s sophomore slump and regain his status with new OC Bill O’Brien. Other than hiring a competent play-caller, the Pats did their part in adding to the receiving corps. Devante Parker’s inability to create separation leaves him out of the conversation for the No. 1 wideout role. Second-year pro Tyquan Thornton was drafted to add a speed element, though he was seldom-used last season hauling in just 22 receptions over 13 games. Late-round pick Kayshon Boutte has tons of talent, though there’s no guarantee of playing time for the former LSU Tiger. That lands us on free agent pickup JuJu Smith-Schuster, who just helped the Chiefs win Super LVII. Reliable in the short-to-intermediate range, Smith-Schuster is the ultimate security blanket for a QB trying to find his mojo.
27. Tennessee Titans — Ryan Tannehill/Treylon Burks

USA TODAY Sports
Not much needs to be said about Tennessee’s pairing. Ryan Tannehill is a solid option, though he’s coming off his worst season as Titans QB. Additionally, there are two recent draft picks — Malik Willis and Will Levis — waiting for their turn. Starring at wideout is Treylon Burks. Of course, Burks was selected with the first-round pick Tennessee received in the A.J. Brown deal. It had to have hurt Brown succeed to such a degree in Philadelphia, while Burks managed just 444 yards and one score as a rookie. Still, Burks is plenty talented, and will get ample opportunities in ’23.
26. Atlanta Falcons — Desmond Ridder/Drake London

Todd Kirkland/Getty Images
We like this pair more than most. Desmond Ridder didn’t have the flashiest rookie campaign. That was partly due to the coaching staff’s deep commitment to the run game last year. As a result, Ridder put up meager numbers after taking over as starter in mid-December. Though, it should be said he did not throw a single interception in 115 attempts, and he had his best game in the final week of the season (19-for-30, 2 TD). It’s not too surprising that Ridder’s best game was also Drake London’s best. London caught six passes for 120 yards in Week 18. The USC product is the total package, and is majorly imperative to the run game as a blocker. In 2023, London he’ll become a bigger contributor in the passing game.
25. Indianapolis Colts — Anthony Richardson/Michael Pittman Jr.

Zach Bolinger/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
We’re excited to see what this duo can accomplish moving forward. Anthony Richardson was the best athlete among all QB prospects in the draft. Arguably, he might be the most gifted athlete at the position at the next level. He has a makeup similar to Josh Allen or Cam Newton with a cannon arm, top-end speed, and a powerful frame. Indy’s No. 1 wideout — Michael Pittman Jr. — is no slouch, either. Pittman Jr. has exceptional strength for the position, and has already shown to have an impressive catch radius. He hasn’t had a QB who can fully unlock his skillset thus far playing for the Colts. With a strong running game that defenses have to respect, Indianapolis’ dynamic passing duo could burn some teams through the air.
24. Washington Commanders — Sam Howell/Terry McLaurin

Rob Carr/Getty Images
It will be interesting to see how Sam Howell fares in Year 2. The former Tar Heel didn’t get his first taste of NFL action until Washington’s final game of the season. Facing off against a Dallas team that didn’t really have a lot to play for, Howell showed flashes of the player who was at one point considered one of the top passers in all of college football. Howell has a lot to prove — including proving that he can stave off veteran Jacoby Brissett as the starter. One thing is for certain, Washington WR Terry McLaurin is capable of producing with anybody under center. McLaurin has not seen the best QB play during his career, but still manages to put up big numbers. One of the most talented wideouts in football, McLaurin is a legit No. 1 that will serve as a top target for the young QB.
23. Pittsburgh Steelers — Kenny Pickett/George Pickens

Mark Alberti/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
Steelers fans have high-hopes for this young pair — and, rightfully so. Kenny Pickett was the first quarterback taken off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft, and proved to be the most pro-ready of the bunch. Pickett made his first start in Week 5, and never relinquished his role after that. Though he had some ups and downs — as just about every rookie does — Pickett came on strong towards the end of the season. Particularly, he was composed and accurate late in games having engineered four game-winning drives. Pickett is going to be able to develop and grow alongside George Pickens, who also showed impressive flashes as a rookie wideout. Pickens had a handful of spectacular catches throughout the year, and will only become more potent as he cleans up his route running.
22. Chicago Bears — Justin Fields/DJ Moore

Michael Reaves/Getty Images
It’s difficult to tell just how good of a passer Justin Fields really is. Of course, the Bears QB lit the league on fire as a runner last season. A dynamic athlete, Fields rushed for 1,143 yards as sophomore — just 60 yards shy of Lamar Jackson for the all-time mark in a single season (and he did so in just 15 games). He did struggle as a passer — especially in the intermediate range. The Bears front office has made it a point to bolster the talent around Fields, adding Chase Claypool via trade last season, and adding D.J. Moore in the offseason. Moore has been hindered by poor QB play throughout his career, but still managed three consecutive 1,110-yard seasons from ’19-’21. Moore’s ability could be the key to unlocking Fields’ potential as a passer.
21. Arizona Cardinals — Kyler Murray/Hollywood Brown

David Jensen/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
The only thing really holding Arizona’s diminutive duo back is their ability to stay healthy. Kyler Murray was limited to just 11 games last year, and there’s a strong chance he misses the start of the 2023 season. Murray has yet to show he can sustain health over a full NFL campaign. Same goes for his former college teammate Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown. Brown joined the pass-happy Cardinals last year, and was expected to take a leap after leaving the run-heavy Ravens. He endured arguably his worst season to date, setting career-lows in touchdowns and yards-per-reception while being limited to 12 games. This pair has a lot to prove entering next season as Brown steps into the No. 1 role following the departure of DeAndre Hopkins.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Baker Mayfield/Mike Evans

Cliff Welch/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
The consistent Evans is doing a lot of heavy-lifting for this ranking. Evans has enjoyed sustained success for the Buccaneers since being drafted way back in 2014. He’s the only player in NFL history with at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first nine seasons. Tampa Bay’s No. 2, Chris Godwin, isn’t too shabby either. It certainly helps when teams are forced to pay attention to two dangerous receivers. Of course, the variable here is Baker Mayfield. He’s replacing seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady. Mayfield showed some signs of life with the Rams last year, but he also has a rather unfortunate track record when it comes to feeding the ball to elite receivers (just ask Odell Beckham Jr.). The Bucs are rolling the dice on Mayfield, hoping he can establish a connection with their top WR.
19. San Francisco 49ers — Trey Lance/Deebo Samuel

Michael Reaves/Getty Images
Who is going to be the 49ers quarterback in Week 1? If the coach and GM have it their way, it seems like the pick would be Brock Purdy. However, Purdy is still nursing a serious elbow injury, and his status to being the season remains murky. Trey Lance is recovering from an ankle fracture that ended his ’22 campaign, but is already on track to be ready for this coming season. The team invested a hefty amount of draft capital in the former No. 3 overall pick, and will likely give him ample opportunity to win the job. Lance’s potential in a Kyle Shanahan offense is intriguing. Especially when you consider the weapons he’ll have at his disposal. Perhaps none more electric than Deebo Samuel, who is just a year removed from an All-Pro campaign.
18. Cleveland Browns — Deshaun Watson/Amari Cooper

Frank Jansky/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
In a vacuum, Cleveland’s combo is an impressive pairing. Amari Cooper is regarded as one of the best route runners in the league. He’s been to four Pro Bowls, and has gone for over 1,000 yards in all but two seasons of his eight-year career. In his first year with the club, Cooper posted a 78/1160/9 line under suboptimal conditions. Notably, he was catching passes from career journeyman Jacoby Brissett and the worst version of Deshaun Watson we’ve seen. Watson has a lot to prove entering ’23. He was dreadful after making his return in Week 13 after not playing for nearly two years. If Watson can regain his status as a top quarterback, this pair will fly up the ranks.
17. Denver Broncos — Russell Wilson/Jerry Jeudy

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports
The Broncos were arguably the league’s biggest disappointment last year. That was primarily due to the play of Russell Wilson and an anemic passing offense. Wilson never got established as a passer, and the team largely stalled as a result. Denver brass hopes the addition of Sean Payton can help Wilson regain the form we saw for so many years in Seattle. And, the Broncos certainly aren’t lacking in the WR department. Courtland Sutton is a former Pro Bowler, and has the capability to take over games with his size and speed. However, former Alabama wideout Jerry Jeudy is the key to unlocking the passing attack. Jeudy was particularly potent towards the end of the season — naturally, the exact time when Wilson began to find his groove. Wilson and Jeudy seemed to establish something late last year that they can take into ’23.
16. New Orleans Saints — Derek Carr/Chris Olave

Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports
The Saints are hoping their new, veteran QB will be the perfect tutor for their young, stud WR. Derek Carr and Chris Olave are a new pairing in ’23, but already seem to be establishing a strong connection. Word out of Saints camp is that Carr has been heavily targeting Olave — who seems to be primed for a breakout season. Olave is a massive talent with no real weakness in his game. Historically, Carr has shown the ability to get the ball into the hands of his playmakers (Davante Adams led the league in receiving TD’s last season). The Carr-Olave connection is the best in the NFC South, and could be the catalyst in leading the Saints to a division title.
15. Las Vegas Raiders — Jimmy Garoppolo/Davante Adams

Ethan Miller/Getty Images
This ranking is more of a place-holder, because not even the Raiders seem to be sure who their starting QB will be in Week 1. As of now, the team is holding out hope that Jimmy Garoppolo will make his debut for the Black and Silver when the team opens up play against the rival Denver Broncos on Sept. 10. Though, reports indicate that Garoppolo’s health could put his availability in jeopardy. The Raiders inked Garoppolo to a deal this offseason which included a waiver should he not play. That has led many to believe the team saw something when he was given a physical which raised concerns. Davante Adams is arguably still the best wideout in football, but we don’t like his chances of having an elite year with current backup Brian Hoyer throwing to him.
14. Kansas City Chiefs — Patrick Mahomes/Kadarius Toney

Jevone Moore/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
In reality, the Chiefs’ No. 1 passing option is TE Travis Kelce. In many ways, Kelce really is just a big receiver masquerading as a tight end. If Kelce was used here, the Chiefs’ duo would easily rank No. 1 on this list. But, for the purposes of this exercise, we only considered players listed at WR in the depth chart. For the Chiefs, the top option is former Giant Kadarious Toney — who the team has high hopes for going into next year. Toney has a ton of potential, but has struggled to stay healthy. Patrick Mahomes is capable of lifting the play of any player around him. If Toney can stay on the field, don’t be surprised if he produces a monster season for the defending Super Bowl champions.
13. New York Jets — Aaron Rodgers/Garrett Wilson

Elsa/Getty Images
Some projection is baked into New York’s placement on the list. Aaron Rodgers is the team’s new QB, and is coming off a rather down season. However, many believe Rodgers’ struggled stemmed more from a disconnect with Green Bay’s coaching staff rather than a dip in his overall skill level. The Jets obviously believe that, and are hoping for another MVP-caliber season from the future Hall of Famer. Joining the Jets means an improved WR room from his last year in Green Bay, headlined by second-year pro Garrett Wilson. The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year should see more catchable passes going from Zach Wilson, Mike White and Joe Flacco to a four-time MVP in Rodgers.
12. Baltimore Ravens — Lamar Jackson/Odell Beckham Jr.

Jason Miller/Getty Images
It’s about time the Ravens start surrounding former league MVP Lamar Jackson with some talented wideouts. Baltimore has been severely lacking at that position ever since Jackson joined the team. Last season, the team’s leading WR was Demarcus Robinson who had just 458 yards. Now, the group has been completely revamped with the additions of rookie Zay Flowers and three-time Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. The latter is looking to rebound after missing the entire ’22 campaign rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered in Super Bowl LVI. The 30-year-old will be looking to prove he’s still a dynamic threat on the perimeter, and Jackson is expected to have an improved season given the new talent on the roster.
11. Los Angeles Chargers — Justin Herbert/Mike Williams

Jamie Squire/Getty Images
A tried-and-true combo — the laser-arm of Justin Herbert and the elite jump-ball ability of Mike Williams. When this pair is clicking, there’s really no answer besides sending two players Williams’ way. Herbert is so smart and accurate that he’s able to manipulate defenses just long enough to find a passing lane for Williams. That lane doesn’t need to be all that big, as Williams’ catch radius allows him to snag just about everything in his vicinity. While we do still wish Herbert had a pure speed threat that could take the top off of defenses, perhaps rookie Quentin Johnston could help in that regard. Also, we can’t forget about five-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen — though the 31-year-old is not quite as dynamic as he used to be.
10. Jacksonville Jaguars — Trevor Lawrence/Calvin Ridley

Corey Perrine/USA TODAY Sports
We can’t wait to see what Jacksonville’s passing game looks like in 2023. Trevor Lawrence took a major step in Year 2, leading the Jaguars to a postseason berth. The leap from rookie-to-sophomore cannot be understated for Lawrence. He looked like a brand new player — one that could easily vault into the elite ranking of QB’s sooner than later. Now, he adds a legitimate WR1 to the offense in Calvin Ridley. The former Falcon was traded to the Jaguars mid-season last year, but missed the entire year serving a suspension. He’ll be ready to go in 2023, and will instantly become a burden for defenses to gameplan for. Watch out for this duo moving forward. They could make a leap up this ranking in no time.
9. Detroit Lions — Jared Goff/Amon-Ra St. Brown

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images
Not many could have predicted Detroit’s pairing cracking the top-10 prior to last season. But, after an amazing season from the Lions offense, here we are. Jared Goff’s return to relevancy was impressive. Goff was one of the most efficient passers in the league, throwing 29 TD to just 7 INT. The former Ram finished fifth in QBR — the only QB’s who finished higher were the three top MVP vote-getters (Mahomes, Allen, Hurts) plus analytics darling Tua Tagovailoa. Detroit did an excellent job surrounding Goff with players who can highlight his strengths. None more than former USC Trojan Amon-Ra St. Brown. The second-year wideout caught 106 passes for 1,161 in just his second season, and was named a Pro Bowler in the NFC.
8. Seattle Seahawks — Geno Smith/D.K. Metcalf

Chris Williams/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
What a year it was for Geno Smith. The NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year was sensational for the Seahawks, filling in for the departing Russell Wilson and outplaying the current Broncos QB. Smith led the league in completion percentage (69.8), was the league’s best deep passer, and finished ninth in MVP voting en route to leading the Seahawks to a postseason berth. Of course, he had a great set of skill player to rely on, led by freak athlete WR D.K Metcalf. The only defensive back who can matchup with Metcalf athletically is one of his teammates (Tariq Woolen). Metcalf is a matchup nightmare and just coming into his own as an all-around player as he enters Year 5.
7. Dallas Cowboys — Dak Prescott/CeeDee Lamb

Kim Klement/USA TODAY Sports
The Cowboys enter 2023 as an NFC contender thanks to their strong defense. Though, their fate may ultimately be decided by this tandem. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb have now spent three seasons together, and have become one of the league’s better passing combos. Lamb really came into his own last year following the departure of Amari Cooper. Stepping into the No. 1 role, Lamb flourished en route to a career year (107/1359/9). Prescott has always been a bit underrated by most, and is a steady passer who processes at an elite rate. Perhaps this pair will never be fairly judged until the Cowboys find success in the postseason.
6. Minnesota Vikings — Kirk Cousins/Justin Jefferson

David Berding/Getty Images
2022 was new heights for the Vikings passing game. Most of that can be attributed to a virtuoso season from the league’s top wideout in Justin Jefferson. The Vikings completely relied on Jefferson all year, and he delivered. Jefferson led the league with 184 targets, and hauled in 128 receptions for 1,809 yards and 8 TD. Teams tried sending two — sometimes three defenders Jefferson’s way, but it often didn’t matter. Credit needs to be given to Kirk Cousins for a willingness to force-feed Jefferson even in tight coverage. This led to an excellent season for Cousins as a passer, as he finished fourth in yards (4,547) and fifth in touchdown passes (29).
5. Los Angeles Rams — Matthew Stafford/Cooper Kupp

Kevin Sabitus/Getty Images
We didn’t get to see the Rams’ duo for much in ’22, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t consider just how dominant they’ve been since being paired together two seasons ago. Even last year, Cooper Kupp was limited to just nine games and still managed a rather ridiculous 75/812/6 stat line (that’s a 142/1534/11 pace). Matthew Stafford struggled while dealing with several injuries, but he’s just 17 months removed from leading a game-winning drive in Super Bowl LVI. Barring a clean bill of health for the 35-year-old QB, Stafford and Kupp will light up defenses once again this upcoming season.
4. Miami Dolphins — Tua Tagovailoa/Tyreek Hill

Megan Briggs/Getty Images
If you polled defensive coordinators around the league, a fair amount might list this tandem as the most troubling to game plan for. That’s partly due to the nature of Miami’s top wideout — the speediest pass-catcher in the league, Tyreek Hill. Hill is virtually unstoppable given his elite wheels. Teams are forced to revamp their defensive strategies to contain Hill. Even then, he still manages to burn coverages on a weekly basis. Last year, Hill proved that he could still be among the league’s best away from the Chiefs’ infrastructure. Still, some credit should be given to the quarterback Hill named the “most accurate QB in the NFL”. Tagovailoa wasn’t too far off that title last year, as he led the league in several advanced passing categories despite being limited by injuries. While his health is a concern, Tagovailoa’s accuracy, touch and anticipation make him an ideal deliverer of the football for a player with Hill’s skill-set.
3. Buffalo Bills — Josh Allen/Stefon Diggs

Nic Antaya/Getty Images
There’s no doubting Buffalo’s production. Since being paired together, both players have stepped their games up. Stefon Diggs has been on the team for three years. In those three years, Allen has finished top-3 in MVP voting twice, and Diggs has had his three most productive seasons (Pro Bowler each year). Though, could there be trouble on the horizon? Last year’s postseason flameout was accentuated by an argument on the bench between the two teammates. While the team has tried to squash any rumors, Diggs’ training camp absence has been puzzling. Does he just want to send a message to a team that has routinely come up short in the postseason? Or could Diggs be looking for a new passer to get him the ball?
2. Philadelphia Eagles — Jalen Hurts/A.J. Brown

Tim Nwachukwu/Getty Images
Philadelphia caught lightning in a bottle with this duo. Though the Eagles were stacked roster-wise at virtually every level, it was the Hurts/Brown combo which really made the offense difficult to stop. Hurts became a real dual-threat last season, burning teams on the ground as well as through the air. After spending his first three seasons in Tennessee, Brown was traded to the Eagles last offseason. He immediately enjoyed the best year of his career, finishing with 88 receptions, 1,496 yards and 11 TD. Hurts finished second in MVP voting while Brown finished ninth — the only set of teammates to finish in the top-10. Even scarier for NFC opponents, that was after just one offseason together. Imagine what they’ll do for an encore.
1. Cincinnati Bengals — Joe Burrow/Ja’Marr Chase

Cooper Neill/Getty Images
When factoring in every duo, no team boasts the level of chemistry, timing and sheer dominance over their competition quite like Cincinnati’s star pairing. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase demolished defenses in the SEC together while playing for LSU. After taking Burrow first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Bengals reunited the combo by selecting Chase fifth overall a year later. To resounding results. Burrow has quickly ascended into the elite tier of quarterbacks, and Chase is arguably a top-5 player at his position as well. Not to mention, having somebody like Tee Higgins on the other side to disrupt defenses doesn’t hurt as well. Until another pair knocks them off, Cincinnati’s battery reigns supreme.

2022 NFL Re-Draft: Evaluating the Biggest Draft Do-Overs and Hidden Gems
1. Jacksonville Jaguars — Sauce Gardner (Cincinnati)
Original 1st Overall Pick: DE Travon Walker
Gardner’s Original Draft Slot: 4th Overall (to NYJ)
Normally, the No. 1 pick in any draft is reserved for a quarterback. From there, elite defensive players or offensive tackles are usually the next in line from a positional standpoint. Well, in this year’s re-draft, the best player bar none was the rookie corner out of Cincinnati.
There’s a case to be made that Gardner is already the league’s best corner. His anticipatory skills were on full display during his rookie campaign with the Jets. Then, you’re looking at a guy with above-average length/height, crazy quickness, and the recovery skills most corners dream of. If Gardner can stay healthy, you’re looking at a potential Hall of Famer down the line. He’s that darn talented.

2. Detroit Lions — Aidan Hutchinson (Michigan)
Original 2nd Overall Pick: Hutchinson
Hutchinson’s Original Draft Slot: 2nd Overall (to DET)
The local product out of Michigan proved to be a very smart acquisition. In 17 games as a rookie, Hutchinson notched a respectable 9.5 sacks. His year also included 3 interceptions, 9.0 TFL, and 52 tackles. Unsurprisingly, he finished second in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting (only to Gardner). You’re looking at a guy who’s truly developing into a pillar for this franchise. If all goes according to plan, Hutchinson will be a double-digit sack guy for the foreseeable future.

3. Houston Texans — Tariq Woolen (UTSA)
Original 3rd Overall Pick: Derek Stingley
Woolen’s Original Draft Slot: 153rd Overall (to SEA)
The theme of defenders continues here. Remember the ‘Legion of Boom’ — where the Seahawks had a secondary chock-full of gigantic corners and secondary players? Well, Seattle struck gold with Woolen deep in the 5th round. In this re-draft scenario, Houston will still take a corner…except it’ll be Woolen over Derek Stingley.
Woolen stands at an imposing 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. As a rookie, he picked off six passes and accrued 16 pass deflections. We aren’t overly surprised at these numbers based upon Woolen possessing extremely long arms. As a rookie, he was one of two players (the other being Gardner) to make the Pro Bowl.

4. New York Jets — Garrett Wilson (Ohio State)
Original 4th Overall Pick: Sauce Gardner
Wilson’s Original Draft Slot: 10th Overall (to NYJ)
Gardner is off the board at this point. Fortunately for the Jets, they can revisit the Ohio State well and nab their second first-round pick from last year in Garrett Wilson. Despite some rather subpar QB play, the speedy receiver still managed to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
He hauled in 83 grabs for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns. Wilson’s quickness off the line of scrimmage was on full display — as was his ability to create space for himself. Now with Aaron Rodgers in tow, Wilson could develop into one of the better young receivers in all of football.

5. New York Giants — Chris Olave (Ohio State)
Original 5th Overall Pick: Kayvon Thibodeaux
Olave’s Original Draft Slot: 11th Overall (to NO)
It’s no secret the Giants need a lead WR. The Kenny Golladay contract has been disastrous, and no one else on the roster really sticks out as an above-average player at the position. While Thibodeaux was decent as a rookie (more on him later), Olave probably is the pick here.
His route-running skills — which he had been lauded for dating back to his high school days in San Diego — more than translated to the pro level with New Orleans. Also facing a subpar QB situation, Olave still hauled in 72 catches for 1,042 yards and 4 TDs. He’d immediately be the No. 1 receiver for Daniel Jones.

6. Carolina Panthers — Braxton Jones (Southern Utah)
Original 6th Overall Pick: Ikem Ekwonu
Jones’ Original Draft Slot: 168th Overall (to CHI)
The Panthers were still able to nab a tackle here. However, it’s just not the one they originally ended up taking. Braxton Jones was taken in the fifth round by the Bears. Yet, he was arguably the most impressive offensive lineman coming from the college ranks last year.
Using Pro Football Focus and its grading system, Jones graded out as the sixth-best LT in the entire league a season ago. Carolina in theory will need help for this year’s first-rounder in Bryce Young. Based upon his play as a rookie, Jones seems like a perfect piece to the puzzle being built in Charlotte.

7. New York Giants — Kayvon Thibodeaux (Oregon)
Original 7th Overall Pick: Evan Neal
Thibodeaux’s Original Draft Slot: 5th Overall (to NYG)
The G-Men still ended up with their guy here. Having two picks inside the top-10, this re-draft enabled the Giants to get a No. 1 WR and a bona fide pass rusher. Thibodeaux’s numbers on the surface might look a bit underwhelming. He notched only 4.0 sacks on the year.
However, the underlying stats are quite good. He ranked top-10 in passes batted down, and was within the top-25 of all pass rushers in overall grade from PFF. The Los Angeles native figures to take an even bigger step up in production as a second-year player.

8. Atlanta Falcons — Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh)
Original 8th Overall Pick: Drake London
Pickett’s Original Draft Slot: 20th Overall (to PIT)
Atlanta doesn’t have a franchise quarterback to this point. With all respects to Desmond Ridder, we don’t think he’ll ever become a high-end starter in this league. Pickett would be the natural choice — if for nothing else he’s on the same timeline/frame as Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson.
With the Steelers, Pickett really found his stride in the back half of the season. He was accurate with the football, rarely turned it over, and was highly efficient with throws to all parts of the field. Without a doubt, Atlanta would’ve gobbled him up here in the hypothetical re-draft scenario.
