31. Detroit Lions
New head coach Dan Campbell is smack dab in the middle of a serious rebuilding project. He smartly opted to build up the lines via the draft — and may have gotten a perennial Pro Bowler in Oregon OT Penei Sewell. While the offensive line (and run game) should be pretty decent, there’s a glaring need for help at wide receiver. The projected starting duo of Tyrell Williams and Breshad Perriman is a steep downgrade from Marvin Jones Jr. and Kenny Golladay. The hope is that T.J. Hockenson can have a breakout year with new QB Jared Goff.
Defensively, the front three were revamped with the acquisitions of free agent pickup Michael Brockers and high draft choice Levi Onwuzurike. Alex Anzalone should help the linebacker group a great deal, and the hope is that Jeff Okudah can bounce back from what was a rough rookie year. We like the direction Detroit is headed in. However, without much depth or high-end talent, it’ll likely be another rough year in the Motor City.
