Safety — Tyrann Mathieu, Kansas City Chiefs
Alternate — Minkah Fitzpatrick, Pittsburgh Steelers
With Adams holding down one safety spot, we need a Swiss Army knife type player alongside him to best complement his skills. Mathieu is the ultimate wildcard because he can virtually play every single position in the secondary. He’s a nickel corner, box safety, and center fielder all-in-one. The 5-foot-9 “Honey Badger” helped transform Kansas City’s defense from one of the worst units in the league into a respectable group that allowed the seventh fewest points in 2019 (up from 24th a season ago).
