Safety — Jamal Adams, New York Jets
Alternate — Harrison Smith, Minnesota Vikings
The safety position has seen an influx of gifted hybrid athletes over the last several years, and Adams looks to be the best of the bunch. The sixth overall pick in 2017, Adams has the look and feel of a linebacker with the speed and ball skills of a defensive back. He’s capable of shadowing a tight end or playing the center of the field, but Adams excels most when he’s up near the line and can make a play. His 10.0 sacks over the last two years lead all defensive backs over that time span.
