PHOTO: The sons of Philip Rivers and Drew Brees Square Off on Gridiron

Philip Rivers and Drew Brees will be forever linked in the annals of the NFL.

Both will end up as Hall of Famers once their playing careers end. Brees was a member of the Chargers during the early portion of his career. Rivers was drafted fourth-overall in the 2004 NFL Draft as a backup to the former Purdue star.

With somewhat of a contractual dispute, Brees opted to leave for New Orleans — thus allowing for Rivers to take over the franchise as the starting signal-caller.

Fast-forward to the present, the two recently met on the gridiron…but not for the reason you may have thought:

The sons of both quarterbacks squared off versus one another in a local San Diego flag football match.

Bowen's 1st flag football game yesterday…high and tight, tightrope the sideline! So proud of him!

One day, maybe we’ll see the offspring face off in the NFL.
