After making sweeping changes, the Panthers appeared unimproved in their first game under interim coach Chris Tabor. Of course, not much can change in less than one week, but Carolina’s effort was less than desirable in a loss to the Buccaneers. Star defender Brian Burns — an impending free agent — got himself tossed after punching a Tampa Bay player in the helmet. No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young completed 15-of-31 passes for 178 yards and an interception. On the year, Young has nine TDs and nine INTs.
