After two shocking victories down the stretch, the Jets’ “wins” likely cost them the first overall pick. However, in most years, Fields would be a lock for the No. 1 spot. Falling into New York’s lap would still be a major boon for the franchise. As we’ve seen in recent years, dual-threat quarterbacks have had real success in the NFL. However, don’t let Fields’ elusiveness fool you — he’s a thrower of the football first and foremost. Additionally, he’s a natural leader, something that the Jets’ locker room could use. Fields would immediately start for a franchise in need of a major talent injection.
