Aaron Donald Shocks NFL Universe By Announcing His Retirement

In a shocking turn of events, All-Pro DL Aaron Donald announced via his personal X account that he indeed will retire officially from the NFL.

The longtime Los Angeles Rams star, 32, specifically thanked the cities of St. Louis and Los Angeles, owner Stan Kroenke, and those within the organization. He then posted a picture of his wife and four kids — further elaborating on the desire to spend more time with his family away from the football field.

Objectively speaking, Donald is widely considered to be one of the best defensive linemen to ever play the game. While he didn’t possess the ideal size for the position, Donald was virtually unblockable with a combination of short-area quickness, unreal leverage, powerful hands, and acceleration virtually no one could match. Helping the Rams win a Super Bowl in 2021, Donald notched tons of personal accolades throughout his career.

This included three Defensive Player of the Year Awards, the 2014 Rookie of the Year Award, making 10-straight Pro Bowls (every year of his career), and 8 First-team All-Pro denotations.

With Donald now moving on, the Rams will continue transitioning with a young roster. Look for Kobie Turner to take the mantle as the team’s premier interior lineman.
