Cam Akers — Los Angeles Rams
With Todd Gurley now in Atlanta, the Rams selected Akers out of Florida State in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Built similarly to Mark Ingram Jr. (though with better speed), the expectation was that Akers would at the very least contend for the starting spot. Thus far through camp, reports indicate that he’s been running third behind Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson. Henderson did suffer a bit of a hamstring injury — which could put his participation for Week 1 in jeopardy. Still, fantasy owners shouldn’t reach for Akers with the hopes he’ll immediately be a No. 2 RB/starting FLEX option.
