23. Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin (Sept. 25)
This is a big game for both programs. Wisconsin is a virtual lock to win 9-10 games a year. As such, it would be a nice boost to Notre Dame’s potential CFP resume. On the flip-side, Wisconsin would love a victory here in order to get a boost in recruiting. Both of these programs have tussled over some of the same recruits over the years (particularly along the offensive line). The game is being played at Soldier Field in Chicago — meaning that tons of alums from both schools will likely flood the stadium.
Another interesting wrinkle is the fact that Notre Dame’s likely starting quarterback (Jack Coan) transferred from Wisconsin to South Bend. It should make for a very prominent storyline ahead of this contest. Also to note — the Badgers are projected to feature eight seniors on the offensive side of the ball. However, the most talented of the bunch could be redshirt freshman RB Jalen Berger. The New Jersey native has the look of a future all-conference player one day.
