30. Mississippi (1959)
No doubt the greatest team in Ole Miss history, it is often regarded as the best of all-time in the SEC. These Rebels yielded just 21 points during a 10-1 season. Led by the great Larry Grantham and running back Charlie Flowers, Ole Miss avenged its only loss to LSU by beating the Tigers in the Sugar Bowl. While The Associated Press and UPI awarded Syracuse the National Championship in ’59, a number of research firms — including Sagarin — crowned the Rebels as champs.
