10. The Crimson Tide Defense Will Be Elite (Again)
A year removed from sporting one of the best defensive units of the past few decades, Alabama must replace six members. But under the leadership of the aforementioned Foster, Alabama is seemingly in good hands. NFL talents Da’Shawn Hand, Da’Ron Payne, Dalvin Tomlinson and Jonathan Allen return, and while the depth won’t match last year’s, the talent won’t be lacking. Flanking Foster are draft-ready pass rushers Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson. With All-American safety Eddie Jackson returning as well, the secondary looks primed for a strong season. Foster and Jackson’s ability to command the field will be very important as the unit acclimates to new defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt following the departure of Kirby Smart.
