When crunching the numbers, one could see that New York may just not be the place for him. A team may be able to capitalize on a potential discount sale, and if they develop him right, he may still realize his full potential. Minnesota, Detroit, Phoenix, and Orlando could all be viable options willing to take a low-cost flier on Smith. If one of those teams can land him, they may just find a bargain player who can help them build their future.
