The 24 Worst Players Being Paid More Than Steph Curry In 2016-2017

As the reigning two-time MVP, no matter what the cost was, Stephen Curry’s salary for the 2016-2017 season would be considered a bargain to the Golden State Warriors. However, the term ‘bargain’ might actually be an understatement, as Curry is set to be the 64th highest-paid player in the league next season with his $12,112,359 salary.

Aside from LeBron James, no other NBA player should have a salary even comparable to Curry. But thanks to the massive salary cap increase this offseason and Curry’s poor timing in signing his four-year, $44 million deal, here are 24 incredibly undeserving players set to make more money than Curry this season:

24. Harrison Barnes – Dallas Mavericks – $22,116,750

Stephen Curry’s former teammate cashed in big time this offseason, agreeing to a four-year, $95 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks. At only 24 years old, Barnes has the potential to be a great NBA player, but has never even averaged 12 points per game in his first four seasons. Barnes will make nearly double Curry’s salary as the go-to scorer for Dallas this season, but seems unlikely to live up to the lofty expectations.
