NBA Power Rankings: Title Favorites in Desperation Mode

30. Houston Rockets (16-48), 15th in West

Following their second 10-game losing streak of the year, the Rockets have established themselves as the NBA’s premier cellar-dweller. It comes as no surprise to anybody who follows the league closely. Boasting one of the weakest overall rosters in the league, the Rockets were expected to be among the league’s worst teams in 2022. However, it was a bit shocking that Houston opted to stand pat at the trade deadline.

Developing the young core is paramount for the remainder of the season. First-round pick Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun are foundational pieces for the future. Kevin Porter Jr. can be a bit erratic with his play, but is undoubtedly a gifted scorer. Josh Christopher has proven to be a nice find for this front office. Taken 24th overall, Christopher has already shown signs of a potential 3-and-D asset.
