2021 NBA Mock Draft: Pick-by-Pick Breakdown with Pro Comparisons

2. Detroit Pistons — Jalen Suggs, G, Gonzaga

NBA Comparison: Jrue Holiday

Detroit needs a lead guard in the worst way. Suggs has the versatility to play both spots in a pinch. Not to mention, he’s highly competitive — and offers the type of character the franchise desperately needs. Detroit would be wise to let Suggs cook with the ball in his hands.

Defensively, the Minnesota native is also an underrated player. Using his large frame, the physical guard is averaging 2.0 steals per game on the year. Suggs would immediately be an upgrade for a backcourt lacking high-end talent.
