For the Grizzlies to truly contend in the Western Conference, some added leadership and experience could go a long way. A deal for a player like Rose — a former MVP who has played in a number of big games — could be had while not sacrificing any prominent rotations players on the current roster. Rose would slot into a mentor role, and also provide a nice playmaking punch off the bench next to Sixth Man of the Year candidate Tyus Jones.
