The MLB All-Decade Team: 2010s Edition

Catcher — Buster Posey

Posey’s Decade: .302/.371/.458, Rookie of the Year (’10), NL MVP (’12), 6x All-Star, 3 World Series (’10, ’12, ’14), 4x Silver Slugger, Gold Glove (’16), Batting Title (’12)

Despite a dip in production the past two seasons, Posey is undoubtedly the best backstop of the last 10 years. Upon entering the league as a 23-year-old in 2010, Posey immediately established himself as a premier hitter. After winning the RoY in ’10 on the strength of 18 HR and a .305 BA, Posey became a superstar in ’12 — slashing .336/.408/.549 to claim the NL MVP — by leading the Giants to a second World Series win in three seasons. Posey’s best days are behind him, but his MVP and three WS wins speak loudly.
