Ranking The Only 15 MLB Teams Who Can Win The 2017 World Series

12. New York Mets

2016 record: 87-75
2016 ERA: 3.58 (3rd)
2016 Batting Average: .246 (25th)
2016 OBP: .316 (23rd)
2 X-factors in 2017: Yoenis Cespedes, Noah Syndergaard

Why they will win: When Matt Harvey is a team’s 3rd or 4th option, you know the pitching staff is utterly loaded. That’s how it is for the New York Mets. A young, stacked staff leads the way for a team whose offense is pretty decent. With Cespedes back and Jay Bruce behind him, this team has got pop and the veteran presence to go all the way.

Why they won’t win: They have trouble in the bullpen at the wrong times with Jeurys Familia and Addison Reed. The team needs to get someone else in the back-end of the pen to bolster that part of the team. Injuries are also concerning as Harvey, David Wright, Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard always struggle to stay healthy.
