The Kansas City Royals gained motivation from the prior autumn’s disappointment and excelled throughout 2015. A laughingstock throughout the 1990s and 2000s, the Royals went 95-67 to clinch their lone American League Central crown. Kansas City then outperformed the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays to advance to its first World Series since 1985. In the Fall Classic, the Royals outclassed the New York Mets in five games to grab the title. Catcher Salvador Pérez batted .364 with eight hits and two RBI to secure the MVP.
