RANKED: The 25 Greatest Hitters In MLB History

23. ‘Shoeless’ Joe Jackson

Before being banned from baseball due to his part in the Black Sox Scandal, Jackson’s performance left little doubt of his penchant for hitting. From 1908-1920, Jackson batted .356 while collecting 1,772 hits, including a sensational rookie year in which he hit .408. While Shoeless Joe will forever be known for the scandal, he should also be acknowledged as one of baseball’s best hitters.
