RANKED: All 30 MLB Teams’ Batting Lineups From Worst To Best

27. Chicago White Sox

1. Yoan Moncada, 2B
2. Avisail Garcia, RF
3. Jose Abreu, 1B
4. Matt Davidson, DH
5. Welington Castillo, C
6. Nicky Delmonico, LF
7. Tim Anderson, SS
8. Adam Engel, CF
9. Yolmer Sanchez, 3B

The White Sox aren’t quite contenders just yet, but this young lineup is one of the best up-and-coming units in the league.

Whether he bats leadoff or in the 2-hole, stud middle infielder Moncada should provide plenty of entertainment for Chicago fans. Formerly baseball’s top prospect, Moncada was the main piece in the deal that sent Chris Sale to Boston. The 22-year old Cuban is the quintessential 5-tool player. He projects to hit for both power and average from either side of the plate, and has enough speed to cause some problems on the base paths.

Former Rookie of the Year Abreu highlights the center of this lineup. He’s hit at least 25 homers in each of his four seasons, and has never dipped below a .347 on-base percentage. Abreu’s pure power coupled with Moncada should terrorize AL Central opponents for years to come.
