Power Ranking The Universal DH Options For All 30 MLB Teams

30. Phillip Ervin, Cincinnati Reds

The Reds have a few options at the designated hitter spot, which is now universal throughout the majors due to the planned abbreviated 2020 season. Ervin has shown moments of offensive pop, especially over the last two seasons. He’s not a bad outfielder, but the DH spot seems like a decent way for Ervin, who hit .271 in 94 games last season, to get some consistent at-bats. Don’t be surprised at some point if Nick Castellanos or Jesse Winker also spends some time as Cincinnati’s DH.
