MLB’s 25 Best Hitters in 2021

24. Paul Goldschmidt — St. Louis Cardinals

We haven’t gotten MVP-level Paul Goldschimdt since he joined the Cardinals in 2018, but the burly right-hander is still a feared hitter for opposing pitchers. The 11-year veteran has knocked 249 career homers and holds a lifetime slashline of .293/.393/.523. Goldschmidt’s 142 career OPS+ (adjusted for ballpark factors) is higher than the career marks of David Ortiz, Reggie Jackson and Vladimir Guerrero.

Don’t let his frame fool you, Goldschmidt is a well-rounded athlete who has no trouble getting down the base-paths. Goldy crossed the 300-doubles milestone last season and also has 128 stolen bases to his name.
