MLB Power Rankings: New No. 1?

30. Oakland Athletics (25-49)

This Week: @ New York Yankees (3), @ Seattle (4)

The A’s are who we thought they were – a bad baseball team. That being said, they’re still capable of stringing together some wins against equally-inept foes. Oakland won the weekend series over the Royals after taking the final two matchups, marking the first series win for the A’s since May 25. Since that date, Oakland is 6-22 and have been by far the worst offense in baseball. Doesn’t get much easier this week with a trip to New York to face off against the first-place Yankees.

29. Cincinnati Reds (25-47)

This Week: @ Chicago Cubs (3), vs. Atlanta (3)

Cincinnati has fallen back down to Earth after a strong few weeks. The Reds rode a seven-game losing streak into a weekend battle in San Francisco. To the surprise of many, the Reds managed to win two-of-three versus a strong Giants team. Still, this Cincinnati team sits in dead last in the National League and are a staggering 14.5 games back of a Wild Card spot. Aside from the Giants win, one positive the team can take into future weeks was Jonathan India mashing his first home run of the season
