Freddie and Chelsea Freeman
All eyes were on World Series champion Freddie Freeman as his free agency decision loomed. Freeman, a native California, had been linked to the Dodgers, Red Sox and Rays. In addition to the US-based clubs, the dual citizen of Canada also reportedly considered a move up north to play for the Toronto Blue Jays.
This was no easy decision for Freeman, who had spent the last 12+ years of his life in Atlanta. He poured his heart and soul into the city. Atlanta saw Freeman grow as both a player and as a person. Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, have lived together in Georgia since 2011. They were hitched in 2014. The couple have raised five children now in Atlanta. Picking up and starting over is never easy, but the Freeman’s have proven to be a tight-knit group. Ultimately, Chelsea will be following her husband to Los Angeles. Freeman opted to head back to his native Southern California and sign a 6-year/$162 million deal with the Dodgers.

Carlos Correa and Daniella Rodriguez
Who can forget the precious moments following 2017 World Series when title-winning shortstop Carlos Correa proposed to longtime girlfriend Daniella Rodriguez. Of course, Rodriguez said yes. The couple have been together ever since. They were wed two years later in front of friends, family, and teammates on the water in the Dominican Republic.
The Laredo, Texas born Rodriguez was once a beauty pageant queen with an impressive resume. She was named Miss Texas USA in 2016 — just a few years after winning Miss Texas Teen USA. Rodriguez earned a degree from Texas A&M and currently owns and operates her own lipstick line. The couple welcomed their first child together in December of last year.

Dansby Swanson and Mallory Pugh
A World Series champion and a World Cup champion. Talk about a power couple. Dansby Swanson is the starting shortstop for the defending MLB champion Atlanta Braves. He met his now-fiancée in 2017 after the two were set up together by Swanson’s former Braves teammate, Jace Peterson. They’ve been dating ever since, and Swanson popped the question a month after his Atlanta Braves took home the World Series title over the Houston Astros.
Pugh is one of the best footballers in the world. The 23-year-old has been playing professionally since she was a teenager. At 17, Pugh became the youngest national team member since Heather O’Reilly debuted back in 2002. The Colorado native was the second-youngest player on the 2019 US Women’s Team which won the Gold medal in France. Her club career began with the Washington Spirit back in 2017, but Pugh now stars for the Chicago Red Stars.

Justin and Kourtney Turner
Justin Turner proposed to longtime girlfriend Kourtney Pogue in 2017 near a scenic spot at the Grand Canyon. Good thing the two-time All-Star always had a sure set of hands at third base, as dropping the ring would have been a disastrous outcome. The Turners have been together ever since, and are often spotted together at Dodger games or around Los Angeles.
Kourtney is an Indiana native who moved to LA in 2005. After struggling early, Kourtney eventually found her footing in her new city. She was eventually accepted to her dream school, UCLA. It was there where she earned a degree in psychology. She’s regarded as one of the most supportive partners in MLB, routinely sporting Dodger gear in social media posts. Since joining the Dodgers, the Turner’s have done an extraordinary job of helping around the LA community, and are often first-in-line when it comes to charity work or making appearances.

Justin Verlander and Kate Upton
Keeping up the theme of power couples, we’ve got World Series winner Justin Verlander — one of the best pitchers of his generation — paired with Kate Upton, an absolute megastar in the modeling industry. There’s something magnetic about two people who are both so dominant in their respective professions.
While Upton has taken a bit of a break from modeling/acting, and Verlander has spent the last two years nursing injuries, there’s no doubt that both are all-time greats in their fields. The married couple have one child together, a daughter named Genevieve (born in 2018).

George Springer and Charlise Castro
Blue Jays outfielder George Springer has been married to former college softball star Charlise Castro since 2018. While Springer is certainly a tremendous player, Castro is an impressive athlete in her own right. During her high school career, Castro was a star across three sports (softball, volleyball, and basketball). Castro attended the University of Albany, where she was the team’s star player.
In 2012, Castro was named the American East Player of the Year after winning the conference’s Triple Crown. It certainly begs the question: Which member of the couple is the better hitter? How many Triple Crowns does he have? Oh, zero? Exactly…

Gerrit Cole and Amy Crawford
In 2021, Gerrit Cole signed the richest contract for a pitcher in baseball history — inking a deal with the New York Yankees worth $324 million over nine years. While that is a significant accomplishment within itself, the real prize in Cole’s life is his wife, Amy. The couple met in college while both were attending UCLA. Gerrit was a member of the school’s baseball team, while Amy starred for the softball squad. Amy is the sister of Cole’s UCLA teammate, Brandon Crawford.
After dating for several years, the two finally tied the knot in 2018 in front of friends and family. On New Year’s Day 2020, Amy announced the couple would be welcoming their first child. Their son, Caden Gerrit, was born later that June. Though Cole calls Yankee Stadium his home during the baseball season, the family resides in Greenwich, Connecticut in a mansion worth nearly $6 million.

Aaron Judge and Samantha Bracksieck
Unlike so many Yankee greats that came before him, Aaron Judge prefers to keep his personal life private. He reportedly began dating his wife, Samantha Bracksieck, back in 2014 when the pair both attended Fresno State University. At one point, the couple had broken up sometime around 2016. During this period, Bracksieck reportedly got engaged to another man. However, Judge and Bracksieck eventually reconciled, and the towering Yankees right fielder proposed to his girlfriend in the Summer of 2021. They were wed last December.
However — for all non-Yankees fanatics — the majority of us first learned about Judge’s relationship in a more upsetting way. In 2020, Bracksieck was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop in Arizona (the Yankees were there for Spring Training). In police recordings, Bracksieck can be heard questioning the officers, “Do you know who my boyfriend is?”. Whether Bracksieck expected to get out of trouble by dropping that tidbit is unknown, but it certainly made headlines for quite sometime…

Joe Smith and Allie LaForce

LaForce was named Miss Ohio Teen USA in 2005, and was crowned Miss Teen USA later that year.
She began her reporting career in 2010, working as a sideline reporter for Sportstime Ohio covering Mid-American Conference football and basketball. LaForce began gaining notoriety once she landed a job at NBA TV. She parlayed her success into a job at Turner Sports. She is now a sideline reporter for NBA on TNT, though she makes the occasional appearance on CBS for NCAA Tournament coverage.

Dallas Keuchel and Kelly Nash
MLB Network host Kelly Nash announced her engagement to White Sox pitcher Dallas Keuchel in March of 2021. Nash — who has over 80k followers on both Instagram and Twitter — has been working for MLB Network since 2015. However, her reporting career dates further back then that. Nash was a production assistant with the ACC Network when she was still in college at Clemson University.
She eventually earned a job at Fox Sports Florida where she helped cover all of the local teams (Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays). While working there, Nash caught the eye of the MLB Network and was hired to be a host of a show called “The Rundown”. When the NHL Network moved their daily operation into the same office as the MLB Network, Nash began hosting “On The Fly” — a nightly recap of NHL games.

Trea Turner and Kristin Haribedian
Second-year Dodger Trea Turner met his future wife, Kristin Haribedian, while the pair were attending NC State. Turner was the team’s star shortstop during a memorable run for the Wolfpack which saw the program collect 125 wins in a three-year span and a College World Series appearance. Haribedian was on the school’s gymnastics team. The New Jersey native was especially adept at the uneven bars event during her time competing.
The pair married in 2018 while Turner was a member of the Washington Nationals. They welcomed their first child — a son — three years later in 2021. The couple’s son was given a fitting middle name, Beckham Dash Turner, as a sort of ode to his father’s blazing speed on the base paths. Just four months after Beckham’s birth, the family was relocated to Los Angeles following a trade to the Dodgers. It remains to be seen if they’ll be staying there for the long haul with Turner’s contract set to expire at the end of 2022.

Shohei Ohtani and Kamalani Dung
Shohei Ohtani has taken the baseball world by storm ever since his debut in 2018. The ultimate dual threat, Ohtani was named AL MVP in ’21 after hitting 46 home runs while posting a 3.18 ERA on the mound. A supreme athlete, Ohtani isn’t the only with some skills at home. The Angels’ star is reportedly dating Kamalani Dung, a professional softball pitcher for the Puerto Rican National Team.
Dung was raised in Waianae, Hawaii where she first fell in love with softball. She was a four-year starter for her high school before committing to pitch for Fresno State University. She later transferred to Cal-Berkeley, where her star began to rose as she dominated on the mound for the Golden Bears. Following her collegiate career, Dung joined the Athletes Unlimited Softball league based in Chicago. Due to her Puerto Rican heritage, Dung was added to the national team roster where she has been one of the team’s top arms since 2018.

Clayton and Ellen Kershaw
Dodger fans are plenty familiar with the family of their future Hall of Fame pitcher. Ellen Melson met future Dodger Clayton Kershaw in high school where their love first began. The high school sweethearts separated momentarily when Ellen attended Texas A&M after high school while Clayton began his professional career (Kershaw was originally committed to Texas A&M before being drafted). However, true love finds a way and the couple eventually got married in 2010.
Today, Ellen and Clayton have four children together — Cali, Charley, Cooper, and Chance. The group can regularly be spotted cheering on their father at Chavez Ravine. The 34-year-old ace still has plenty left in the tank given his recent level of play. However, the end of his career is rapidly approaching. At the very least, Kershaw will be able to enjoy retirement alongside his delightful family.

Yonder was a star for the Miami Hurricanes, and took a young Machado under his wing to prepare him for the MLB.
At that time, Manny was introduced to Yainee and they began dating. Manny actually asked Yonder for his permission to date his sister. Of course, Yonder obliged and the rest is history. The couple owns two homes in Coral Gables, Florida. This is where they reside when Manny isn’t crushing baseballs in Petco Park during the season.

The couple welcomed their first child together in 2018, but weren’t yet engaged. Mookie popped the question to his longtime girlfriend in January of 2021, less than 12 months after the former Red Sox star was shipped to Los Angeles to play for the Dodgers. When proposing to his now-wife in 2016, Trout enlisted the help of an airplane. It asked for her hand in marriage high up in the sky. While the couple enjoyed being parents to their two dogs, both Mike and Jessica decided it was time to add a new, non-canine member of the family. In 2020, the couple welcomed their first child, Beckham Aaron, to the world.

Clint Frazier and Kaylee Gambadoro
One-time top prospect Clint Frazier had a tough year on the baseball diamond. Frazier was woeful at the dish, committed several fielding errors, struggled to stay healthy, and was eventually released by the Yankees after spending six years in the organization. While his career trajectory took a hit, Frazier found plenty of success away from the diamond last year.
Just a couple of months after celebrating their one-year anniversary, Frazier got down on one-knee and proposed to girlfriend Kaylee Gambadoro during a romantic, candle-lit dinner. Of course, Gambadoro agreed the proposal and the couple is set to be wed sometime in the near future. He enjoyed the best season of his career in 2018, finishing sixth in the NL Cy Young race and earning an All-Star nod.
Mikolas’ wife is Lauren, an elementary school teacher and former Ultimate Fighting Championship ring girl. After the couple met for the first time during 2016 Spring Training in Arizona, the Cubs went on to break a 108-year World Series drought the following season. Though Vakos initially denied his advances (she gave him a fake phone number at first), she eventually warmed up to the steady first baseman. Rizzo knew he found a keeper, and married the former nutrition intern in June of 2017.
Rizzo and Vakos spent several years together in Chicago before moving together to New York last year. While it seemed like they could be on the move again this offseason, Rizzo opted to re-sign with the Yankees in free agency. It looks like New York will be the pair’s home for at least the next two years.

Hamels was named World Series MVP (the team won all five of his starts during the postseason run).

Tim Hasselbeck’s NFL career was rather nondescript. He was known primarily as Matt’s younger brother. Hasselbeck played on a number of NFL teams as a backup signal-caller. Elisabeth first appeared on Survivor before eventually spending 11 years as a co-host on the talk show The View. After multiple on-air spats with Rosie O’Donnell, Elisabeth left the show. A short stint on Fox News was quickly ended upon Elisabeth wanting to focus solely on her family.

Given Jackson’s elite talent and marketability, there’s a good chance we will uncover more details about their relationship as time goes on.

From there, they brought a daughter into the world. We’ve always heard about the strength surrounding this couple. You never hear any negativity surrounding Savannah nor LeBron from tabloid outlets. They’ve clearly build an immensely impressive household, and much of that trust clearly stems from knowing each other since they were teens themselves.

In the wake of the horrible helicopter accident which took the lives of Kobe and their daughter Gianna, Vanessa stands strong — raising the couple’s three daughters (Natalia, Capri, Bianka). She’s also heavily involved in a number of charities — including the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.

Now we get into some coincidental relationships involving the Curry family. Sydel Curry is none other than the sister to Steph and Seth Curry. Lee and Curry got married in 2018. From there, they had a son named Daxon in 2021. Sydel was an All-American volleyball player in high school. She then earned a scholarship to Elon University. With those genes, we’re guessing Daxon will be a terrific athlete.

Seth Curry and Callie Rivers
Bizarrely sticking with the Curry family, we now focus on Seth. The sharpshooting guard out of Duke ended up marrying a girl named Callie. However, Callie is no ordinary girl. Her brother is Austin Rivers, and her father is longtime NBA head coach/ex-player Doc Rivers. To make matters even funnier, Doc was Seth’s head coach this past year with the Philadelphia 76ers. That was — until — Seth was traded in a package which included James Harden. Callie married Seth in 2019. She was a standout volleyball player in Orlando before attending the University of Florida.
