Predicting Where The Top 30 MLB Free Agents Will Sign

Jose Quintana

When the Cubs acquired Quintana from their crosstown rival White Sox in 2017, the team was hopeful that the lefty could extend their championship window. Instead, Quintana largely struggled throughout his three-plus seasons with the North Siders. The one-time All-Star missed the majority of the ’20 season after undergoing thumb surgery, but he should be good to go to start next season. While there are plenty of teams in need of pitching, the Giants stand out as a good match. The Giants are a rebuilding team in need of another reliable arm in the rotation. Additionally, Quintana would benefit from pitching in a more pitcher-friendly ballpark.

Prediction: San Francisco Giants
Update: Quintana signs 1-year/$8 million with Los Angeles Angels
