2021 MLB Power Rankings: Opening Week

27. Colorado Rockies (1-3)

This Week: vs. Arizona (3), @ San Francisco (3)

The Rockies dropped three-of-four to the Dodgers to open their season, but at least they were competitive — for the most part. Starting life without Nolan Arenado manning third base, Colorado knocked off the Dodgers on Opening Day behind some timely hitting, good work out of the pen, and a little bit of luck…luck that saw a Cody Bellinger home run turn into an out, and one run instead of two.

Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon are two of the best hitters in baseball, but the rest of Colorado’s lineup is a bit underwhelming. And while the rotation features a very good No. 1 (German Marquez) and some solid depth, the club needs everyone to pitch at their peak if they want to avoid losing 90-plus games.
