Rapper-turned-actor Ice-T has had a very interesting life. Losing both of his parents by age 13, he left his native New Jersey and moved out to a gritty section of Los Angeles. In order to provide for his baby daughter (who was born when Ice-T was 18), he decided to join the military. Ice-T was a solider for a little more than two years as a member of the 25th Infantry Division (stationed in Hawaii). Ultimately, his love of music and the desire to pursue this as a career led to him leaving the military.
