Michael Caine (Real Name is Maurice Micklewhite)
Michael Caine clearly isn’t a fan of alliteration. The famed British actor has been on the silver screen since 1950 (when he was 17 years old). Now age 89, many would be surprised to learn that ‘Michael Caine’ isn’t really ‘Michael Caine’ after all. He was named Maurice Micklewhite (after his father). After required military service, he entered the realm of theater. ‘Michael White’ was his first stage name — though that was changed to ‘Michael Caine’ (after seeing The Caine Mutiny) after learning of another Michael White actor (who was a competitor).
