23. Poison
Poison was a group which oozed sex appeal — crossing over from different precursors of rock music — ultimately settling in a hybrid which meshed together traditional rock with the innate cheesiness of the 1980s. The frontman — Bret Michaels — continues to be a fixture in pop culture. Aside from his obvious talents as a performer, we’ve seen him on countless reality TV shows over the years. In a sense, it’s helped to keep the band prevalent.
With that said, it was the decade of the 1980s which led to the band exploding. The band had three consecutive multi-platinum albums — which included the highly acclaimed Look What the Cat Dragged In. Flesh & Blood soon followed (also enjoying terrific success).
