A dominant presence on the music scene for over 40 years, Pink Floyd showed an ability to adjust to the times and reach multiple generations of fans. So, how did the creators of The Wall and The Dark Side of the Moon come up with their name? According to Syd Barrett — the groups founder who was with Floyd from 1965-68 — he combined the names of his two favorite musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.
