The Shining’s Wrath
The Shining is one of the most memorable — and best — horror movies of all-time. It is downright creepy and terrifying. But while some of its scares have been ingrained into our memories (ie. the twins, redrum, “here’s johnny!” the blood,) there are a few hidden gems within the film. As the family is shown driving to the hotel, “Dies Irae” is playing — a piece of music that is often used at Funeral Mass. Also meaning “the day of Wrath,” this song hinted at a bad, bad family vacation.
