RANKED: The 16 Teams Left in The NCAA Tournament from Worst to Best

16. Xavier Musketeers

Record: 23-13
Round of 64: 76-65 over Maryland
Round of 32: 91-66 over Florida State

Xavier is rolling after two upset victories over Maryland and Florida State. Star wing Trevon Bluiett has carried his Musketeers team with terrific offensive outings, averaging 25.5 points per game over both wins. The caveat for Xavier will be the teams that they will have to defeat on the way. A Sweet 16 match up versus Arizona, and then having to face either Gonzaga or West Virginia for a spot in the Final Four might be the toughest combination of teams anybody will have to face on their way to Phoenix. No disrespect to the Musketeers, but it will be an arduous road for the last double-digit seed remaining in the field.

15. Purdue Boilermakers

Record: 27-7
Round of 64: 80-70 over Vermont
Round of 32: 80-76 over Iowa State

Caleb Swanigan has had one of the best seasons of any player in college basketball this season. He has proven to be a legit talent through Purdue’s two victories in the tournament. The Boilermakers have size that can disrupt even the most skilled of teams, and it seems like 2017 is finally the year Purdue has utilized their strengths effectively. A Sweet 16 match up versus Kansas looms — which will be a tough test. The Jayhawks sport a small-ball lineup that could render backup big Isaac Haas useless. With that said, Kansas will have their hands full with the rebounding ability of Purdue.

This team has done well for themselves, but the likelihood they make it out of the Midwest is tough with the other three teams they would have to go through.
