It’s unlikely the Raptors have any chance of matching the talent level they snagged in 2016. With three of their guys likely going in the lottery in a re-draft scenario, Toronto would have to look elsewhere to bolster their heralded bench.
Ulis’ weaknesses as a player are well-documented. Given his short stature, it’s hard to imagine he ever develops into a plus-defender. He’s not a knock down three-point shooter, and can struggle finishing over length near the basket. However, Ulis plays with a tremendous motor, is a willing passer, and is a relentless slasher. He has the potential to fill in as one of the league’s better back-up point guards.
