Why they will win: The team’s young pitching staff gives major hope for the Jays. With Edwin Encarnacion out of the picture, the team will focus on re-signing hero Jose Bautista. But without him, the lineup still has value thanks to the additions of Kendrys Morales and Steve Pearce. With Aaron Sanchez and Marcus Stroman at the helm, along with a sturdy bullpen, this team could be in for another great season.
Why they won’t win: It’s hard to lose a superstar, let alone two of them. Without Encarnacion, the power in the middle of the order will rest on Josh Donaldson, and teams may just opt to pitcher around the former MVP. They are going to need to re-sign Bautista if they want to resemble anything close to the offensive powerhouse of the past.
